What you can expect

Based on your background and preferences, you’ll join one of our companies to work on a project in key areas such as Business development, Software Engineering and AI development. From day one, you’ll be an essential member of your assigned team, contributing to strategically important projects to drive our company forward. You'll gain an inside look at how advanced technology solves real business problems and creates significant value for society.

When you apply, we ask you to choose the area you prefer to work in. Here’s a brief overview.

Business development. You have a strong passion for the intersection of business and technology. With a commercial mindset and a preference for a data-driven approach, you're always investigating and exploring new business models, markets, and products.

You thrive on tackling challenging projects tied to our core products - whether it’s refining business models, optimising product packaging, analysing complex datasets, or driving product commercialisation. You enjoy collaborating with stakeholders and communicating across teams, and you are always looking for ways to boost efficiency and effectiveness in everything you do.

Software Engineering. You'll collaborate with our team to enhance features for mission-critical products, applying principles from Computer Science. You’ll gain hands-on experience in both backend and/or frontend development, explore cloud technology, improve user experience (UX), and work on product enhancement and development. Your tasks can include designing and implementing solutions using modern technologies. You’ll engage in interdisciplinary projects, providing you with valuable insights into how various technologies and functions interact and how theoretical knowledge from Computer Science translates into practical, impactful solutions.

AI Development. Your technical responsibilities will involve developing algorithms, models, and innovative solutions that integrate AI technologies and mathematical optimisation into our products. You'll explore how AI and machine learning technologies can be integrated into our existing products, and develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models for applications such as predictive analytics in debt collection or enhancing customer experience. Your passion for technological innovation and eagerness to make a commercial impact will drive your work.

Who we’re looking for

As a Summer Intern, you’re a third or fourth-year student eager to dive into real-world experience at one of Europe’s largest software companies. You are currently pursuing a degree in Industrial or Financial Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Informatics, AI, or similar. You have a commercial mindset and are eager to join us on our mission to improve the work-life of millions of people around the world with our software.

You’re a critical thinker who excels at solving complex challenges, asking insightful questions, and challenging the status quo. Whether you have a passion for coding and innovation or aspire to lead future tech projects, you’re a self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a team. Plus, you have strong communication skills in both written and verbal Swedish and English.

Internship details

Our internship runs from mid-June to early August, with a two-week holiday break in July.

You’ll dive into real projects that are important to help us drive our company forward, working in international teams with significant responsibility and support from experienced colleagues. We aim to match your assignments with your skills and interests for a fulfilling experience. You will get an inside look at how advanced technology can be used to solve real business problems and create significant value for society.

You will also get to know the interns from Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands.

Application process

Instead of a traditional cover letter, we want to know: What do you hope to gain from a Summer Internship at Visma, and what subject in school is the most interesting to you? Share your thoughts in a paragraph or two, approximately 100-150 words. Don't forget to upload your CV and higher education grade reports; screenshots of grades are okay if official reports aren't available

We'll review applications on an ongoing basis, and you may be asked to complete an ability- and personality assessment as part of your application. If we believe we're a great match, you'll be invited to a digital interview. For candidates progressing to the next stage, the final interview will also be digital and include a case assignment.
